A change of environment can be very positive as it allows us to relax and see our lives and usual routines from another perspective. But, at the same time, being out of your regular routine can bring changes to those same routines that are not beneficial for us. That’s what has happened to me.
Since I arrived, I have been losing the regular routine I had back in Saudi Arabia. After almost a year and a half of baby caring, I was very proud of my ‘mini’ regular Yoga practice. (When you have two kids at home, 30 to 40 minutes of yoga practice can feel like a major accomplishment!).
I was also running everyday, and I have been missing that a lot. Running allows me to strengthen my body and relax my mind. After 30 minutes running, I feel powerful and energetic; I feel positive about my life and in those 30 minutes I have built the mindset I want for the day.
Another important thing I always do in the morning is meditate. I sit down and have a few moments in silence. When I do this first thing in the morning, my day skyrockets! And if I am able to finish both my yoga practice, and running, I call it a ‘Blessed day.’ J
My goal, right now, is to keep this routine alive. When we go on holiday, it’s very easy to lose our routines and fall into bad habits. The problem is that returning back to these routines after a few weeks or months can be extremely difficult. And thinking of all that I will lose if I don’t do it…No. I will do what it takes to keep myself on the right path. But for that I need to be very organized.
If I feel healthy, I feel good about myself, and this allows me to be a better mother, better wife, sister, daughter, and friend. J
I hope this note inspires you to stick to your health routines during this summer. Let me know how things are going for you. I love to hear your comments.
Have a wonderful summer!
